  • life changing songs...

okay...so they might not be life changing...but these are the tunes that color my current outlook on life :]....enjoy.

Young Galaxy - Come & See

I happened to find this track on a mixtape i found online somewhere...i think?  oh well, i found it and it's all that matters, rite? haha.  so yeah...this track makes me feel youthful...again.  you know that feeling.  hopefull, happy, exuberant, mindful of the world around me.  it's a great feeling.  no wonder unicorns rule. :].

    The Zutons - Confusion

Simple...yet majestic, and would probably go good with a glass of red wine and some a nice conversation.

    Maps - Lost My Soul

I can't seem to find a video for this one, but amazingly they gave it away for ONE day on myspace.  whew...did i luck out.  The version that I downloaded seems to be a lot better than the one that Maps has up on their myspace.  So if you like it and want to hear the version i've got...send me a message and i'll let you "borrow" it. :].

Anyhow, this is an amazingly ethereal sounding song.  Exactly the type of stuff that seems to launch me into another atmosphere and forget abou the doldrums of everyday existence.

  • $8.00 glasses? is this for real!?

so after losing my glasses at the dog beach, i decided that i would look for some less expensive alternatives for vision since i somehow always seem to lose, sit, or step on my glasses a lot more often these days.

so i found www.zennioptical.com and ordered a pair that cost me a whopping $12.95 ( $8.00 + $4.95 s+h ).  I will let you all know how they look and feel and if they even actually get here haha.  finding my prescription and filling out the online form wasn't difficult but i did mess up on the 'pupil distance' a few times.  it's supposed to take 2 weeks. i'm crossing my fingers!

  • i'm a bit amazed at how much the internet has changed since the hey-days of high speed internet.  i remember logging onto the internet via aol...via 28.8k, which was normal in those days ( '95-'97 )...actually...it was more like 56k, but i think i skipped that step 'cause modems were about $100+ bucks and that was money i didn't have.  i did get a cd burner though.  that was like $300+ bucks my freshman year.  but with the amount of music that i listened to and downloaded ( at 28.8 kpBs by the way ) ...it was well worth it.  Blank CDs were about $2-$3 bucks each.  anyhow, yeah...10 years later, this is what it is.  webpages actually have pictures and it's become the newest form of communication.  the idea of video being integrated into everything on the web is even more amazing.  but sometimes i wonder what's going to happen in another 10 years.  i mean, i realized the dramatic effect that it had on me as a youth and how much it stunned my ability to communicate outside the tube.
